MPR Services, Inc. to improve amine system performace

Within Tessenderlo Kerley, MPR Services provides amine management, enhancing gas treating systems in refineries, gas plants, ammonia plants, steel manufacturing and LNG facilities.
Based on client specifications, MPR provides technically advanced mobile and permanently installed equipment, patented processes, and analytical services for cleaning and recovery of gas treating solutions with a focus on corresponding economic and environmental improvement in plant operations.
Gas Treating Systems – alkanolamine cleaning using ion-exchange. MPR processes a slipstream of the lean solvent, removing heat-stable salts ions. Depending on the specific degradation product, MPR's advanced technology removes (as with amino acids) or recovers (as with formamides and oxazolidones) the solvent, and is available as either a mobile or permanent unit. Clients realize key benefits such as increased acid gas handling capacity, more stable operating conditions, reduced corrosion, and diminished amine consumption.
MPR's Heat Stable Salts, Hydrocarbons and Solids removal processes are used in other types of gas treating solutions, including glycols and sulfolane.
MPR's Glycolex™ Process removes both cation and anion contaminants from common glycols, including mono-ethylene glycol, di-ethylene glycol, tri-ethylene glycol, di-glycol amine and tetra-ethylene glycol.
MPR's OXEX™Process converts oxazolidones (degradation product) back to valuable amine resulting in decreased production costs, generating environmentally friendly waste – a benefit of all MPR processes.
Caustic Treaters, MPR's MPRox™ Process, an efficient chemical oxidation process for the on-site treating of spent caustics, reduces harmful toxins and odor precursors in spent caustic – including sulfidic, naphthenic and cresylic – into a biodegradable stream that is conducive for processing in a conventional wastewater treatment plant.

Sour Water Treating Systems offer abatement and cleanup of sour water with MPR's SWAT™ Program. Either mobile or installed, these units work in parallel with existing sour water stripping equipment to handle excess load or particularly onerous water streams.

Cyanide Control MPR's Cyntrol™ Program decreases the possibility of cyanide-assisted corrosion while significantly reducing the potential for free cyanide in the refineries. wastewater effluent.

MPR performs a unique on-site analysis of free cyanide levels to optimize their Cyntrol (ammonium polysulfide, APS) cyanide control service. Due to the reactive nature of free cyanide, this on-site program is valuable to a refinery in diagnosing, with follow-up recommendations to efficiently and economically manage cyanide control. MPR, through TKI, is the world's largest supplier of APS for scavenging fugitive cyanide.
